Grand Derbi
Watching Grand Derbi right know. Seems that again the question is not if Real is going to lose against Barcelona. It's rather how high.
It's only 25' and Barca is already leading the game 2:0.
Well, at least there is a lot of Casillas. He has his hands full of work tonight.
Edit: Real was crushed. 5:0 for Barca, and they completely dominated the game. Missed the second half but I don't even regret this too much, really. They whole game almost ended up in a fight in the first half, the second apparently wasn't better, as most of the players were shown a yellow card (including the both goalkeepers) and Serio Ramos was send away with a red one.
Two saves of Victor Valdes (both in the first half I think) and one of Iker Casillas. It was not a game for goalkeepers' fans.

Premier League: Everton vs West Brom 1-4 video
This match is not going to be a nice memory for Everton. They lost with West Bromwich Albion a game they theoretically should won. After all West Brom is stuck in the relegation section after five games without a win in the row.
But football is a tricky game. Everton lost on their home soil. Everything was against them that day. The defense was poor, the decisions of referee questionable and they did finish with ten men. Mikel Arteta was send away with red card.
Poor Tim Howard could do little. Those four goals were practically imposible to save. He crashed with the goalpost while attempting to make a save of a free kick shot (0:12 in the video). It looked so painful!
Liked Scott Carson's performance. He made 3 fine saves. His teammates were on the place to support him. When Beckford clipped the ball over the advancing Carson, Gabriel Tamas got back and clear it off the line.

Serie A; Genoa - Juventus 0-2 21 Nov 2010; Eduardo in Serie A, photos
Watched Genoa - Juventus game yesterday. Juve didn't give Genoa a chance, was a much better team on the pitch. Unfortunately after this match Eduardo has a howler on his account. In 18' he made an attempt to save Claudio Marchisio's shot, which deflected off Genoa's defender. It was so unfortunate that the ball he pushed away came back off the post, deflected from him and came into the goal.
In the first half Juve did score also a second goal. The ball went on the far post, Eduardo didn't reach the ball.
He made 3 saves in total. Two of them in the second half were quite important and it were practically one to one situations.

Casillas in Portugal - Spain 4-0 friendly game, 17 Nov 2010
It was not the day of Iker Casillas.
I can see a look of doom here...
Helder Postiga scores a goal
Spain's players react after Hugo Almeida scored the fourth goal for Portugal.
Iker Casillas, the captain of Spain team and Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Portugal team, read the statement supporting the idea of hosting the World Cup 2018 by the both countries.

Portugal - Spain 4-0, 17 November 2010 video
Video highlights of the friendly match Portugal - Spain. Amazin game. Poor Casillas was just helpless when Portugal kept attacking and attacking.
Eduardo played in the first half and Rui Patricio in the second. They didn't had too much work to do.
Iniesta's shot, 10', video.
The shot was off target, went on the right side of the portuguese goal. Eduardo didn't even touch the ball, but at least he is present in this highlights so I put it here as well.

Who saw that coming?
Poland won with Ivory Coast 3-1! Robert Lewandowski scored two times, and Obraniak shot an amazing goal from a free kick. Łukasz Fabiański had a lot of work, as the defense was as leaky as usual.
Watching friendly Portugal - Spain right now. Portugal is leading the game 1-0! Martins scored a goal in 45'. A lot is happening on the pitch. Both Casillas and Eduardo are not left without an occupation.
The second half has just started. Rui Patricio changed Eduardo.
Edit: 2:0! Postiga scores in 49'.
Edit 2: 3:0! Beautiful action under Casillas's goal and Postiga scores again. Why the match at the World Cup 2010 couldn't look like that?!
Edit 3: Hugo Almeida scores in 90'+4. A perfect ending!

Friendly games tomorrow
Two important friendly games tomorrow. Firstly, Portugal is going to face Spain. Does Selecção has a chance to win? They have a new coach, they improved they effectiveness in scoring, but the defense didn't seem to be as tight as it used to be during the World Cup.
In the last game Eduardo didn't seem to be as sharp as during the tournament, when he allowed only 1 goal and made 19 saves in four games. Will keep my fingers crossed for him tomorrow. He will need all his skills to try to stop Spain!
The second game I'm going to watch, at least partially, is Poland - Ivory Coast. Well, Poland need to win after eight months without a single victory, but I don't think it's going to happen tomorrow. Even without Drogba, Ivory Coast is a very good team.
Łukasz Fabiański is back to the team. His last performances in Arsenal's games were good. Watched Everton - Arsenal game last Sunday. He helped the team to keep the advantageous result. Everton tried to catch up with Arsenal's 0-2 lead, but eventually they manage to score only one goal, and it came too late. Hope tomorrow Fabiański also will do well, this time playing for the national team.

Robert Enke
Today is a year since the death of Robert Enke. He was the goalkeeper of Hannover 96 and German national team. He was believed to become no. 1 at the World Cup 2010.
At 10th November 2009 he commited sucide. It was later revealed that he had been suffering from depression for years.
What a terrible illness it is. So many mourn him and yet nobody was able to help him when he was still alive...

Premier League: Blackpool vs Everton 2-2, 6 November 2010
That game was a little crazy. In the first half Blackpool scored the opening goal, but they kept the lead for only a few minutes because Everton equalized it. Unfortunately Tim Howard was not without a blame when Everton lost a goal. I think he didn't put the wall on the right position.
The story repeated in the second half. Blackpool scored their second goal. This time there was so much fuss in the penalty area that Howard couldn't even see clearly where the ball was. Blackpool's joy didn't last long as Everton catched up with the result only two minutes later.
However, neither of the sides could add third goal to their result and the game ended with a draw.
Only one photo with Tim this time. Better than nothing.
It's from a weird offside. Weird, because it was an offside but the assistant referee was late with raising the flag up. Fortuantely for Everton and for Tim (who didn't really make an attempt to make a save) it was an offside.

European League: Lech Poznań - Manchester City 3-1, 4 November 2010, video of all goals
What a game! Lech took the lead in the first half, City equalized the game in the second, then the lucky goal of Arboleda and beautiful gol scored from the distance by Możdżeń. Really, really nice to watch.
Watch the video of the goals:
Injac, 30' (1:0)
Adebayor, 51' (1:1)
Arboleda, 86' (2:1)
Możdżeń, 90+1' (3:1)

Handball: Portugal vs Poland 27-27, 31 October 2010
No one did expect that. The Euro 2012 qualifier Portugal - Poland would end with a draw. And it was a lucky draw for Poland because surprisingly it was Portugal who led the game.
Didn't believe in what I saw. Poland is the fourth team of World Championship 2010. Portugal is on 23th place in the ranking. The difference between the game against Ukraine a few days later and the match against Portugal was unbelieveable.
I think Poland did underestimate the opponent. Portugal had a good strategy. A lot of Polish attacks were unsucesful and also the defense didn't help goalkeeper at all.
There is also one person who stood on the way of Polish team. Poruguese goalkeeper, Hugo Figueira. And I really don't care if most of the shots were easy to defend, or not strong enough. He did save also one to one situations and a penalty if I'm not wrong. Was on the right place and that's what counts. 17 shots saved. A man of the match for me.
Fortunately, Poland woke up near the end of the match and catched up with the result. Still, one point is better than nothing, but I hope that the next qualifier match is going to look better!
Good luck to Portguese handball team too. Two teams are going to get through the qualification stage. Both Poland and Portugal can play at Euro 2012, it would be ideal for me.
