KKS Lech Poznań - Underdogs of Europa League

A video about Lech Poznań made by YT User ozinjusz.

In simple words: the beauty of football.

Jerzy Dudek injuried

Jerzy Dudek is ruled for six weeks after fracturing his jaw in Champions League Real Madrid - Auxerre match which took place on Wednesday.

Official information from realmadrid.com:

"Jerzey Dudek was examined by maxillofacial specialists at Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital on Thursday. After confirming the diagnosis of a fractured manidble made by Real Madrid-Sanitas Medical Services on Wednesay, the goalkeeper was successfully fitted with an intemaxillary fixation device. He will be evaluated over the next 7-10 days by Real Madrid-Sanitas Medical Services and may be healthy enough to return in 4-6 weeks depending on his progress."

What a bad fate. He has so rarely a chance to play. This time he was supposed to play in that one game of Champions League, replacing Iker Casillas.

He did extremly well, in the first half he saved his team twice from losing a goal. Unfortunately, when in 43' he run out of the goal to clear the ball he crashed with Contout. Had to leave the pitch and Antonio Adan replaced him.

Hold up, Jerzy. Hope you will recover quickly.

UEFA Cup: Lech Poznań - Juventus 1-1, 1 Dec 2010, picspam and video highlights

Lech Poznań advanced to the 2nd round of UEFA Cup after the dramatic game against Juventus, which was more similar to a snowball than a football game.

The 1-1 draw was a lucky for Lech. Rudnevs scored the opening goal in 12' and was better team in the first half. Juve kept attacking and finally Iaquinta managed to equalize to 84'. The weather condition were getting worse and worse. It started snowing and soon the pitch was almost completely covered with snow.

Hard time for the goalkeepers especially. They don't run so much like the other players and it's harder for them to keep the warmth.

One of the heores of Lech was the goalkeeper Krzysztof Kotorowski. According to ESPN he made 12 saves (!), including two in the last minutes of the game (he catched the ball going straight into the goal in the literally last second of the match).

During the game I was only worried if he can see the ball, especially near the end of the first half, when it started snowing.

Before the second half started the lines were cleared off the snow and painted pink. They also changed the ball from yellow on bright orange one.
