Ricardo - Viva la Vida

A video made by Hindsay, a fan of Portuguese goalkeeper Ricardo.

The words of Coldplay's song "I used to ruled the world" seems to suit to Ricardo's situation too well. In a way he did rule the world when thanks to his amazing penalty saves in the penalty shoot-outs Portugal made to the semi-finals at two big championships in a row.

In the quarter-final match with England at Euro 2004 he saves one penalty and scored himself the final one.

Portugal meet England again at World Cup 2006 quarter-final. After goalless match it came to the penalty shoot-out again. Ricardo saved three and set a record.

And now? He is one of the deputies in Betis, a second division Spanish club which was relegated in the previous season. His international career seems to came to an end. He didn't played in months.

Hope he will move this summer. Deserve to play as no. 1 in a bigger club.
